Running Backs

Saquan Barkley is back? What is up with CMC. Johnathan Taylor? What about Najee Harris?

Saquan Barkley has looked like he has made it back to his rookie form. He looks explosive and all-around phenomenal. He has 317 yards and two touchdowns this year running. This is an average of over 100 yards per game. If he continues at this pace he will be putting pressure on the Giants to give him a giant extension.

Christian McCaffery has not been bad, but he is already questionable for Week 4. Injury problems have been slowing him down for a while now. He currently has 243 yards and one touchdown. He doesn’t look as explosive as before. I would definitely take Barkley over CMC right now.

Johnathan Taylor. The number 1 pick in many fantasy drafts. He has 286 yards and one TD. He hasn’t been bad, but he does not look as good as last year. He has not had as many eye-opening plays or stat lines.

Najee Harris is a second-year running back for the Steelers, and he had high expectations. He has not had a 100-yard game yet this year. 128 yards and 1 touchdown. Very underwhelming.

These are just some players I felt like highlighting.

What is up with the Raiders

0-3

That is the record of the new look Las Vegas Raiders. They got a “better” coach and one of the best wideouts in the league, but they are 0-3. I had high hopes for them and I still believe that they can do well this season. The problem is that they are gonna have to do that in a division with the Chiefs, Chargers, and Broncos. All three teams have had a great start. It will be tough to climb out of the hole they dug themselves into, that is for sure.

Tua?!?!?!?!

So we now know that the Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa is dealing with a potential concussion and neck injury. Best wishes to him and hopefully, he heals quickly, but what will the dolphins be like without him. Their backup is Teddy Bridgewater, so that won’t be the worst. Will the Dolphins lose any confidence or take a step down without Tua? We will have to find out.

Are the Miami Dolphins Super Bowl Contenders

In my opinion, no.

Are they a quality, playoff-caliber team? Yes. Tua Tagovailoa is a solid QB and Tyreek Hill is one of the best and fastest wide receivers. They have Mike Gesicki at TE, Jaylen Waddle at WR, and a very good defense. That is going to be hard to stop in the postseason. The key reason they won’t make the Super Bowl is the Buffalo Bills. They are in the same division meaning if they do not win the division they will have to play a tougher playoff schedule. Plus, we do not know if Tua is ready to be a good QB in the playoffs. The moment may be too big.

Crazy Cowboys

Why are the cowboys bad. In my opinion, they are better than people give them credit for. They never do good in the playoffs and I believe that this won’t change. They are going to continue to be a good regular-season team. Currently, they are rattled quite a bit by injury. Michael Gallup and Dak Prescott, are the two biggest injuries. They now have to play with Cooper Rush at QB for at least another few weeks. They also got worse in free agency. They lost Amari Cooper and a few key O-line players like La’el Collins. And their defense doesn’t look as good as last year.

So far this year they had a tough loss vs the Bucs, where Dak got injured. Then they took a good win vs Cincinnati. One of the huge players during this game was Noah Brown. They have had a few players step up and I still think that they will win the NFC East. I mean, who else is gonna win it.

From Super Bowl to 0-2

What the heck happened to the Cincinnati Bengals? Well last year, against all odds, they made it to the Super Bowl. They lost in a close game vs the Rams. Going into this season they were expected to be an even better team than they were last year. They improved their horrid O-Line, but none of this is working for the Bengals.

In Week 1 they took an ugly loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. After many missed field goals, the Steelers and Chris Boswell hit a game-winning field goal in overtime. The Bengals were straight-up sloppy. Burrow threw a pick-six in the first quarter to Minkah Fitzpatrick. He also threw a total of 4 that game. Then Minkah Fitzpatrick blocked an extra point to send the game to OT. That is way too many negative stats for a “SUPER BOWL CALIBER TEAM”

Then the Cowboys game. The shorthanded Cowboys that were playing Cooper Rush won on another game-winning field goal. The Cowboys are usually good, but they are missing their superstar QB and many of their key depth players. The Bengals on the other hand are healthy and coming off of a Super Bowl appearance. I still believe that Cincy will come back and make the playoffs, but they definitely aren’t making another Super Bowl.

My View on the Panthers

There is absolutely no way Head coach Matt Rhule makes it to the end of the season They are 0-2. They lost to the Browns whose starting QB is Jacoby Brisset. Now Brisset is an OK QB but the Panthers should have won that game. On paper, if you look at the Panthers they should be a solid team. Baker Mayfield isn’t a bad QB, Christian McCaffrey is amazing, and DJ Moore is phenomenal. They even have a nice defense. And then they played a very sloppy game against the 2-0 New York Giants. I’ll admit that the Giants don’t look bad but the Panthers should have won that game on paper. In execution, though they had two fumbles in the first five minutes. While the Panthers’ defense played great, the offense was a literal dumpster fire.

Matt Rhule during this entire time hasn’t been the best coach. They haven’t been great since they got him and I think the smartest decision for them is to just cut their losses and fire him.
